Once Upon a Bad Boy (Sometimes in Love #3) – Melonie Johnson

Expected publication date: June 25th, 2019

NEVER SAY NEVER
Sadie Gold is ready to take her career to the next level with the role of a lifetime. Finally, she can shake her reputation as a pretty face with more wealth and connections than talent. But Sadie is not prepared for the wild turn her own life is about to take. The man in charge of training Sadie for her most demanding role yet is none other than her first real boyfriend—the one who took her heart and ran away.

WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE
Bo Ibarra is as good-looking and irresistible as ever. Maybe even more so, now that everything once worked against them—Sadie’s pampered and privileged upbringing and Bo’s childhood in a family struggling to make ends meet—is in the past. But the future is still unwritten…and getting there, together, means coming clean about painful secrets and slashing through nasty tabloid rumors while trying to control the attraction that crackles between them. Maybe it’s finally time for them to walk off into the sunset and into a true and lasting love?

I am so glad I had the opportunity to read the first 3 books in this series via Netgalley as they have all been enjoyable! While Bo wasn’t quite strong enough to knock Theo out of his top spot on my ranking of the 3 heroes involved, he is a pretty strong contender with Logan…even without a kilt! Unlike the first 2 books in the series, this is a second chance romance story so the emotional feels were strong to start.

Sadie and Bo were childhood friends that grew into a relationship as teenagers until the night of her senior prom when Bo breaks up with her all of a sudden, with no explanation. Sadie was from a rich family and Bo’s father worked as the stable manager for her grandmother and it’s this disparity that led Bo to break things off, though she never knew the real impetus behind his action. They have not seen each other in 11 years until the day Sadie shows up for the table read on her first starring role in a movie and is shocked to find that Bo is the stunt coordinator on set. Of course the meeting is awkward already, on top of the fact that he initially thinks she has something going on with her co-star Ryan. (Note-the vagina/donut metaphors killed me!) However this movie is a big career step for both of them, so they are determined to do whatever they have to in order to work together.

As expected, It doesn’t take long before the sparks are flying between them again and they are both forced to confront the demons of their shared past together in order to find their HEA. The range of emotions they go through are so well communicated to the reader that you can’t help but cheer for them! While each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone, there are mentions of the couples from the previous 2 books which are always fun along with the rest of Sadie’s friends…including Ana who is probably my favorite of the group! I’m just really hoping the next book in the series is hers because I can’t wait to get her POV on life, love and donuts!

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the chance to read this early!
